Peter Kennard is one of the most uncompromising, clear eyed political artists of our time, a pioneer of photomontage. His work rips through the surface of state power, war, capitalism and environmental destruction, and lays bare what those systems try to obscure – the human cost. Peter has created fiercely political images that have travelled far beyond the gallery wall, into newspapers, onto placards, pasted on street corners and burned into the minds of generations.

His work for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, the stop the war coalition and his unflinching responses to Gaza and Ukraine are just a few examples. Peter and Ceri discuss the people and moments that shaped him, how he´s sustained prolific output without losing his fire, and why getting the work out into the world has always been just as important as making it.
